Position Summary: Barking Lizards is looking for an experienced senior artist. This job requires an individual with a great work ethic and a profound desire for challenge.

Responsibilities:
  • Create stunning models using off the shelf tools such as Maya or Softimage XSI
  • Strong proficiency with Zbrush and photoshop
  • Ability to build high resolution models and their low resolution counterparts
  • Ability to create stunning textures for all levels of game development
  • Character rigging and setup in Maya or Softimage XSI a plus, but not required
  • Sharing of modeling and texturing knowledge with others on the team
  • Work closely with the CCO, Art Director, Technical Art Director and other artists within the company to refine artistic capabilities
  • Work closely with the modeling staff as they develop character models to ensure that proper techniques are used

Required Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years modeling and texturing production experience
  • Shipped at least 1 title as a modeler from creation to release
  • Strong knowledge of the entire development process of modeling for animation, effective rigging, and game integration.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with the technical and artistic requirements for both handheld and console/PC development
  • Familiarity with MEL scripting a plus
  • Familiarity with other tools such as 3DS Max and Lightwave a plus






Position Summary: Looking for a smart, highly motivated individual that enjoys solving difficult networking problems associated with server side MMOG software engineering. Experience with at least two major platforms is a must.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and develop enhancements to core server features and MMOG-specific modules.
  • Enhance client SDKs that span multiple console, handheld and PC based platforms.
  • Work closely with other teams internally and externally to optimize their use of the server platform.

Requirements:
  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Excellent C++ programming skills
  • Enjoys working on a team to meet common goals
  • Pro-active self-starter
Bonus Skills:
  • Unix or Linux software development experience
  • Working knowledge of the sockets API

Barking Lizards Technologies, an independently owned and operated game development studio located in the Dallas, TX area is looking for a game designer to join our ranks. As part of our current growth plan we are looking for talented and motivated individuals with a passion for games to help build games based on our own IP and licensed properties.

Position Summary

Working with the creative department you will help construct fun and innovative game designs based on both original and licensed properties across a wide variety of platforms. This includes conceptualizing and iterating game play mechanics with a passion and an eye for creating great game experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Create fun and innovative game designs, appropriate to genre, demographic, and platform considerations.
  • Collaborate with the creative management team to develop internal IP as well as pitch documents for publisher submission.
  • Communicate game concepts and design changes clearly to team members both creative and technical.
  • Design games within given constraints based on both original IPÕs as well as existing licenses.
  • Eager to design for various genres from kids titles to role-playing and action games with a willingness to work outside of your comfort zone.
  • Involvement with both prototype and production phases of projects.
  • Work with internal and off-the-shelf tools to develop game content.
  • Evaluate existing and competitive products from the design perspective.
  • Manage the design production staff working on a given project.
  • Mentor and cultivate the growth of current and future designers.
  • Work with all team members to create the best possible games.

Experience and Skills
  • Experience writing thorough and complete documentation.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 4-6 years of game design experience having shipped at least two titles in a design role, from concept to release.
  • Managing and maintaining schedules while working directly with producers.
  • Capable of self direction, independence and is well organized.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and effectively solve problems through collaboration and consensus.
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks and adapt quickly to change.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and source control tools.
  • Familiarity with proprietary game scripting languages or standard programming languages such as LUA/Java/C++ a plus.
  • Knowledge of a standard modeling package or art tools such as Photoshop a plus, but not necessary.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
